+ What size stove or cooktop does the Adhesive Stove Guard fit on?
Our Adhesive Stove Guard is expandable and will fit most standard stoves or cooktops between 24”- 36”.
+ Can the Adhesive Stove Guard be removed when not in use or will it be installed all the time?
We recommend keeping our Adhesive Stove Guard installed at all times so you won’t forget to use it, however, it can easily be disassembled and removed for cleaning and then quickly put back into place.
+ Does the Adhesive Stove Guard also cover the stove knobs if they are in front of the burners?
No, our Adhesive Stove Guard will only protect knobs on a cooktop that are placed on the top surface. It will not cover any knobs on the front. Protecting stove knobs is a challenge, as there are no standard sizes, so we recommend pulling the knobs off completely and put them back when needed.
+ Is the adhesive strong enough to hold the Stove Guard in place with a curious toddler hanging on it?
Yes our heat resistant 3M VHB adhesive tape that secures the installation rails is incredibly strong and will hold a 75 lbs. child hanging on the front of the Stove Guard. This was one of the requirements in the design and construction of our Adhesive Stove Guard.
+ How far does the Stove Guard have to be from pots and pans?
When cooking with gas, heat radiates around the pot or pan, especially when turned to high. This radiating heat and the proximity of the pot or pan can cause the Stove Guard to get hot to the touch. Always keep the pot or pan at least 3” (7.5 cm) from the inside of the Stove Guard, or use one of the rear burners when cooking with gas. Electric stove tops or cooktops don’t radiate heat in the same manner so we recommend keeping the pot or pan 1” (2.5 cm) from the inside of the Stove Guard on electric burners.
+ How do I clean the Stove Guard?
Our Adhesive Stove Guard can easily be disassembled and removed for cleaning. We recommend hand washing, as strong chemicals in dishwasher detergents might discolor the aluminum.
+ Can the adhesive be removed without damaging the surface when I’m ready to permanently remove it?
Yes, despite the strength of our 3M VHB adhesive tape, it easily comes off the surface by simply peeling it with your finger when you no longer need it.
+ Where can I find the replacement 3M VHB adhesive tape if I’m getting a new stove or moving to a new home?
